The main educational process of the IB will be presented by unique cross-cutting Master’s and PhD programmes, characterized by interdisciplinarity and aimed at training “transfessionals” having a research thinking, able to work in the knowledge economy market. Such programmes use a problem, project-based learning, and meet the modern demands of the employers, who are actively involved in designing the programmes and their realisation.


To recruit talents and realize individual educational trajectories of students the IB’s professors give classes for undergraduates, the IB generates a portfolio of projects and supervises their realization by relevant undergraduate students. The students of the IB will receive basic education in ‘wide’ bachelor’s programmes in physics, biology, chemistry, and applied informatics.


For flexible adjustment of individual educational trajectory in accordance with individual preferences and employers’ demands  TSU provides modular structure of the basic educational programme, as well as additional educational programmes, additional professional training programmes, campus courses and elective courses.


Network nature and participation of unique experts become possible due to remote educational modules, widespread use of e-learning, and MOOC.


Uniqueness and relevance of PhD programmes will be ensured due to participation of PhD students in research activities under the IB research projects which supervised by leading IB scientists, and primarily by internationally renowned researchers.


At the core of new and upgraded educational programmes are problem-based learning and interdisciplinary approaches. Many of the programmes are built on the principle of networking, including with international partners.

Main curriculum for Master’s programme

“Translational chemical and biomedical technologies”.


The core courses are in English. Employment of graduates: research organisations, biochemical companies, clinical and diagnostic laboratories. Partners: University of Heidelberg (Germany) included training, Scientific Research Institute of Oncology and Scientific Research Institute of Cardiology - clinical base.



Area of focus: OMICS technologies and data mining


Programme of continuing professional education

“High-performance intelligent analysis of biomedical data”.


The programme is focused on analysis of biomedical data and particularly results of genomic research. Partners:  Arizona State University (Tempe, USA), Goldsmiths College, University of London (London, United Kingdom) – lectures and joint research.



The IB area of focus: Neuroimaging and medical imaging


Main curriculum for the Master’s programme “Biophotonics”.

The programme of double degree diploma is focused on structural and functional medical imaging. Partners: University of Oulu (Finland) – lectures and consultations, University of Houston (USA) – internships.


Continuing professional education programme

“Biomedical, structural and functional imaging”.


The programme is dedicated to neuroimaging, which is in demand in the international market. Partners: University of Washington (USA) – lectures and joint research.

The programme is focused on additive technologies. Partners: University of Münster (Germany), Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (Germany) – lectures and consultations.

The programme is focused on studying neurophysiological bases of mind. Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology of RAS, Research Institute of Physiology SB RAMS – student internships and joint research.
